World Inequality Database on Education (WIDE)
United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization -UNESCO)

The World Inequality Database on Education (WIDE) brings together data from Demographic and Health Surveys and Multiple Indicator Cluster Surveys from over sixty countries to enable users to compare education attainment between countries, and between groups within countries, according to factors that are associated with inequality, including wealth, gender, ethnicity and location. Users can create maps, charts, infographics and tables from the data, and download, print or share them online.

Programme for International Student Assessment (PISA)
Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development - OECD

PISA is a triennial international survey which aims to evaluate education systems worldwide by testing the skills and knowledge of 15-year-old students. To date, students representing more than 70 economies have participated in the assessment. The most recently published results are from the assessment in 2012. Around 510,000 students in 65 economies took part in the PISA 2012 assessment of reading, mathematics and science representing about 28 million 15-year-olds globally. Of those economies, 44 took part in an assessment of creative problem solving and 18 in an assessment of financial literacy.

Trends in International Mathematics and Science Study (TIMSS)
International Association for the Evaluation of Educational Achievement, Boston, USA

A globally cooperative enterprise, TIMSS conducts comprehensive state-of the-art assessments of student achievement supported with extensive data about country, school, and classroom learning environments. Fifty countries participated in TIMSS 2007, and more than 60 are expected to take part in TIMSS 2011. TIMSS 2011 is the fifth in IEA’s series of international assessments of student achievement dedicated to improving teaching and learning in mathematics and science. First conducted in 1995, TIMSS reports every four years on the achievement of fourth and eighth grade students.
